INTRODUCTORY
WALKS
New
members are welcome to join the second Sunday walk once
they have appropriate boots and clothing and have a reasonable
level of fitness. You must sign a club disclaimer prior
to commencing the walk. Proper gear is essential and a
packed lunch is advisable. Everyone who takes part on an
Introductory Walk and are not members of the MCI must complete
and sign a disclaimer form. Download one (here) and hand
the completed form to the leader on the day of the walk.
Alternatively, the walk leader will complete one with you
on the day of the walk. New members must submit membership
fee prior to participating on second walk.
CLUB
RULES AND PROCEDURES
- All
members must comply with the club rules in the interest
of Safety.
- Please
sign walk registration form on prior to commencing walk
and sign out on completion.
- All
members must follow instructions and advice of leaders
at all times. This is for the safety and welfare of members
while participating on walks.
- Remain
with group until walk is complete.
- Any
accidents ,incidents, mishaps should be reported to leaders
immediately.
- Proper
gear must be worn at all times during walks. Click

- While
new members can participate as guests on initial walks
, they must be registered with Club/M.C.I. for subsequent
walks.
- Members
are registered and insured with the M.C.I. Insurance
cover is extremely limited.Essentially all members are
participating at their own risk. The Club takes no responsibility
for injuries ,mishaps etc while participating on club
walks.
- Midleton
Hillwalking Club is Affiliated to the Mountaineering
Council of Ireland. Membership costs only 45 euro per
year.The year runs from 30th Oct -01 Nov each year.
- Members
from other clubs must produce a current M.C.I. (mountaineering
council of Ireland) card on request.
